The Team

XBRM has carefully developed a team of highly experienced and credentialed consultants and educators. Our experts are trained in clinical and forensic psychology, criminology, and behavioral sciences, as well as emergency management and homeland security.

Our team is the home to some of the nation’s foremost experts in disaster and emergency management. Each brings a specialized set of skills, such as large-scale crisis response, workplace violence and telecommunications crisis management. All associates possess at least a Master’s level degree in an applied behavioral sciences field (e.g., psychology, sociology, criminology, etc.) and have been carefully screened and trained for the intense nature of crisis work. Team members have met our strict standards for education, experience and reputation. The use of this team allows us to assure the quality and consistency of all services. Steven M. Crimando, MA, BCETS, is the Managing Director of Extreme Behavioral Risk Management.  He is a clinician and educator specialized in crisis intervention, disaster recovery, and traumatic event response. He has been conferred the status of Diplomate of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and is a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress. He also holds Level III Certification in Homeland Security through the American College of Forensic Examiners International, where he serves as the Vice Chairman for the Division of Forensic Counseling.  He serves as a consultant and trainer for the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Emergency Management Agency and United Nations, and is a faculty member at the Rutgers University Center for Management Development.

As both an independent consultant and as a member of several public-sector crisis management teams, Steven has helped coordinate various aspects of the response to the TWA Flight 800 Crash, the 1993 and 9/11 World Trade Center attacks and bio-terror incidents in the Northeast.  He is a consultant to many companies, universities and government agencies across the country. Steven has addressed professional audiences at major conferences on such topics as: “The Psychological Consequences of Chemical, Biological, Nuclear and Radiological Terrorism”,  “Workplace Violence Intervention and Response”, “Debriefing Strategies Applied During Downsizing”, “Community Response to Disaster” and “CQI/TQM Methods in The War Room”.

Steven has been featured in the New York Times and New Jersey Monthly magazine for his work with organizations in crisis, and has appeared on Fox TV’s Montel Williams Show and Fox News Channel, ABC-TV’s World News Tonight, NBC-TV’s Evening News, MSNBC-TV’s InterNight, and numerous regional television and radio programs to address a variety of crisis-related topics.

Steven holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and  has post-graduate training in Clinical Psychology from Seton Hall University, in addition to dual undergraduate degrees in Human Development and Public Relations from Syracuse University. He has been called upon as an expert witness in crisis-related litigation and has written and published numerous articles addressing the human-factor in crisis management and disaster recovery.

Raymond F. Hanbury, Ph.D., ABPP is a licensed psychologist whose areas of specialization are Behavioral Medicine; Disaster and Trauma Psychology; Addictive Behaviors; and Police Psychology. He is Board Certified in Clinical Psychology and holds Diplomate and Fellow status in his specialties. He conducts forensic evaluations and serves as a Court expert. Dr. Hanbury received his doctorate from New York University and holds faculty appointments at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (NY); University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School; and the Monmouth County (NJ) Police Academy.

Dr. Hanbury has been working in the field of crisis, trauma and disasters for over 25 years and has attained national recognition in his field. He is an author and presenter, serves on the editorial boards of several professional journals, and is on a number of national and international Advisory Boards. He has received numerous awards, including being recognized as a Distinguished Practitioner in Psychology by the National Academies of Practice. He is a State Clinical Director for a trauma response team, as well as the Mental Health Officer on a Disaster Medical Assistance Team in the National Disaster Medical System under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He is the founder and director of Project T.A.P.E.R. (Trauma & Addiction Psychology for Emergency Responders).

Barbara S. Maurer, MA, LPC, CTS is a nationally-recognized expert in crisis intervention and traumatic stress response. She has more than 20-years of firsthand experience including involvement in recovery efforts following many disasters including, September 11th, Hurricane Katrina, the Oklahoma City bombing and the Southeast Asian Tsunami in Sri Lanka. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Trauma Specialist, a trained art therapist and EMDR therapist.  Ms. Maurer maintains a private therapy practice, lectures nationally, and provides consultation to agencies, schools, and corporations.

Ms. Maurer served with New Jersey’s Governor Cody’s Task Force for Mental Health as the Chair of Emergency Preparedness and Trauma Advisory Board. In January 2006 she was appointed by Governor Cody to the Professional Examiners Board for Licensing of Professional Counselors and later joined New Jersey’s Governor Corzine’s Campus Security Task Force along with the Department of Homeland Security, to help improve behavioral assessment and response to violence in campus environments. Ms. Maurer is the Vice President of the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists. She received her Bachelor’s degree from The State University of New York at Stony Brook and Master’s Degree from George Washington University.

Ms. Michael C. Redmond, CEM, FBCI, MBCP, MBA, PhDc, is a Board Certified Psychoneurologist (Crisis Psychology) and CEO of Redmond Worldwide, Inc., an International Consulting Company. She is a Certified Business Recovery Planner; Certified Emergency Manager; and holds two International Master Level Certifications in Business Continuity. Ms. Redmond. She is also a graduate of Command & General Staff College out of Fort Leavenworth. Furthermore, she has completed the Civil Affairs courses in the School for Special Warfare, which encompasses planning in various political and cultural environments.

She’s been as an Adjunct Professor for Emergency Management and Business Continuity Management at New York University and the Masters program at John Jay College. M. Redmond has also served on the Boards of the New York Chapter for Association of Contingency Planners, Contingency Planners Association and NY Chapter of the Communications & Electronics Association.

Joseph Baskin, AllSector’s Director of Network Operations, is the lead person on technology aspects of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) & Disaster Recovery (DR). His strength in information assurance and security is evidenced by his CISSP and SANS – GISP certifications, membership in the FBI’s InfraGuard program, as well as his Level III Certification in Homeland Security. He leads a team of specialist that includes (but not limited to) Microsoft, Cisco, and SonicWALL Certified Network Engineers, as well as Certified Ethical Hackers (CEH).
